15. What do you mean by "teacher schedule"?
The daycare operates on a teacher schedule. This is a great option for anyone working in the school board as no fees are due during the summer months. The daycare is open on all PD Days. The daycare is closed during Christmas break and March break.

Summer care is not offered. The daycare opens the last week of August (week before Labour day weekend) to ensure time to prepare for the upcoming school year and to allow for smooth transitions.
17. Will a home daycare ensure my child is ready for Junior Kindergarten?
Absolutely! The daycare will work with your family to ensure a smooth transition from home care to a school environment.
Manners, respect, patience, kindness, independence... these are all things emphasized in the daycare that will be valuable tools for your child.
During their time at the childcare children will learn through guided play... colours, counting, shapes, to recognize/write their name etc. Most importantly children will explore the world around them and develop a love of learning!
We continually work to ensure school readiness and independence skills! Getting themselves dressed, doing zippers, putting items in a backpack, opening lunch containers, using a glue stick/scissors, tidying up after themselves, acts of kindness... they will be well prepared to enter the new world of junior kindergarten!
18. Do you accept subsidy or provide subsidized spaces? What about the CWELCC agreement program?
Subsidy spaces and CWELCC spaces are not the same.
Subsidy spaces are need or income based and approved through Halton Region. Subsidy is administered by the Region and follows the child. Please contact the Region regarding your situation.

CWELCC spaces are provincially funded and universally applied to all licensed childcare spaces.
All spaces at the childcare are eligible for CWELCC funding.
Little Leaders Childcare Agency opted in to the CWELCC in 2022 and current childcare fees reflect CWELCC funding and agreements for Little Bear Home Childcare. The childcare will remain subject to the CWELCC as is feasible. Fee changes will be communicated to families as they are applicable.
19. Why do you post so much about your daycare on the web? Aren't you worried about people using your business ideas?
Home daycare providers in Burlington are a wonderful group of women! We rely on each other for support, inspiration, professional development and ideas!
I believe in transparency for parents. Parents will never wonder where I stand on a particular issue and I am ALWAYS an open-door to families. I know how stressful it can be to leave your children in the care of another person. I hope this website helps answer questions before we meet!
20. Am I guaranteed a childcare space if we are on the wait-list or have a tour booked?
Spaces are offered on a first come, first served basis to families who have had a meet & greet tour with the childcare, reviewed the Parent Handbook and have been confirmed by the educator. Tours continue until all available childcare spaces are full. Wait-lists are typically long in Halton and it is not possible to hold spaces. Please see the registration page for further details.
